Volunteers needed to harvest crops for Oregon Food Bank at Oct. 24 National Food Day event

Wednesday, 10/17/12 - 11:18 am

Get your hands dirty for a good cause by volunteering with Multnomah County’s Office of Sustainability to harvest crops for the Oregon Food Bank on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Join Chair Jeff Cogen for the county’s second annual Food Day event, a nationwide movement promoting healthy, affordable, sustainable food, at the County CROPS (Community Reaps Our Produce and Shares) Farm. The farm was once a vacant county-owned lot and now is a community farm that produces food for the Oregon Food Bank.

Harvesting activities run from 9 a.m. to noon at the CROPS Farm located at Northeast 244th Avenue and Southwest Halsey Street in Troutdale.
