“Shaqulia Roach has been an active volunteer with the Multnomah County Health Department’s Healthy Birth Initiative (HBI) for the past five years. She currently serves as co-chair of the HBI Community Action Network Leadership Group. She has served as a peer support person through the Seeking Safety program, often facilitating the group meetings.

Shaqulia is always happy to help out with the planning, preparation and implementation of all HBI events and activities and has volunteered to staff HBI information tables at community events and health fairs. She went to the National Healthy Start Conference as a consumer representative and spoke with Congressional representatives about the importance of HBI services. She helped with the planning and implementation of a teen health event that was a big success. Shaqulia is an excellent program advocate who is always available to assist HBI in any way!”
