"There are certain volunteers who are shining stars and Roy is certainly one of those people. He has been involved in several programs at Elders in Action with his primary focus being the Personal Advocate program.  A Personal Advocate is a volunteer who works one-on-one with an older adult facing a crisis in their life, and helps them get through the next steps so they can deal with the issues. One of Roy’s clients commented that he was “patient, thorough, had great analytical skills, and was willing to take the time to explain the issues to me”.  In his three years of service, Roy has helped over thirty older adults and has recently started taking the difficult restraining order cases.  When an older adult is in crisis, Roy is willing to make that person a priority."
