Begin Filing
Multnomah County Assessor Personal Property Smartfile Portal

E-filing is available January 2 through August 2 of each year.

The Multnomah County Department of Assessment & Taxation is very excited to launch our new Smartfile portal. The Smartfile portal is a free web-based application and all information entered is secured and protected by your account number and PIN.

Most businesses in Multnomah County can save time, paper and avoid late filing penalties, with timely filing of their Business Personal Property returns electronically.

Business Personal Property filers will now have electronic access to their asset lists, as well as be able to file their returns electronically and securely through the Smartfile portal.

For existing accounts that have filed a Personal Property Tax Return with Multnomah County in the past, we are pleased to provide the Smartfile portal. The interactive system will guide you through the process.

You will need your account number and PIN before you can begin to file your return. If you did not receive a letter or have trouble logging in to Smartfile please email ppreturns@multco.us or call 503-988-6332.
