A cracked crossbeam that supports the east approach to Hawthorne Bridge has been repaired.

County crews have completed repairs to two cracked concrete crossbeams on columns that supports the east approach to the Hawthorne Bridge.  The work required steel beams to be lifted above the cracked crossbeam during the repairs and concrete cure. During the first repair, the TriMet bus stop on the westbound approach to the bridge, above SE Water Ave. was closed in 2015 to reduce weight on the girders.  The bus stop has reopened.

Another concrete crossbeam on the east side of Water Ave. was repaired in early 2016, which required a lane closure on the westbound ramp to the Hawthorne Bridge. The cracks were identified during a bridge inspection.
