Communications Coordinator

Pronouns: he/him/his

Paul Park has served as the communications coordinator for Chair Deborah Kafoury and her office since January 2020. He writes stories and newsletters, crafts remarks and messages, and works on myriad communication projects. He also works closely with the County Communications Office.

Prior to joining the Chair’s office, Paul worked in communications and event management at Central City Concern, a Portland-based nonprofit working to end homelessness, and at the Boys and Girls Clubs of Portland as a youth services professional. Before that, he worked at a digital marketing company writing website copy and managing a team of writers.

Paul grew up in Milpitas, California, and graduated from the University of California San Diego with a double major in communications and sociology. He moved to Portland in the winter of 2008, just weeks before “Snowpocalypse,” seeking to pursue a career in public service in a city with which he’d long been enamored. Paul graduated with a master’s in public administration from Portland State University in 2013.

When he’s not working, Paul enjoys spending time with his wife and energetic preschooler, reading pop culture writing, spoiling his two cats (only one of which truly appreciates his efforts), and keeping up with his hometown sports teams.
