OCCUPATIONAL BACKGROUND: After graduation from U. of Wisconsin – Whitewater I taught kindergarten and second grade. Was a critic teacher for the first class of U. of Wi graduates in Elementary education. Summers were service related areas at United Way, the Salvation Army, and as a Playground Director for Shorewood School District
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Madison East Sr. High School, Madison, Wisconsin; Bachelor of Education in Kindergarten Primary at University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, Wi.
PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: Working with the Russell Neighborhood Assoc. (1) Negotiated with Portland Christian School in order to reduce traffic on two neighborhood St. (2) fought the siting of a jail near one of our elementary schools. (3) lobbied East County Recycling to put in a new and better looking fence around their property. (4) worked with neighbors to pressure Western State Chiropractic College to locate a parking lot away from residential properties. (5) helped work out a partnership with Portland Parks and Rec. that brought new play equipment to the Children at Russell Elementary and (6) worked three of the four year process to save Glendover Golf Course from being sold for a hospital because East County lacks recreational facilities and I don’t play golf but children and adults of all ages can participate.
