Matt joined MCEM in February 2022 as a Resource Request Coordinator, and became Logistics Division Lead in October 2022.
Previously, he spent more than 25 years in environmental conservation, variously focused on watershed health, land use planning and community resiliency with local, regional and national organizations. Fundraising, community engagement and communications were longtime roles. Matt’s involvement in Portland Neighborhood Emergency Team (NET) activities over the past 4+ years sparked his interest in emergency management as a next stage career.
Matt grew up in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate New York, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Government from the University of Notre Dame, then headed to the Pacific Northwest, greatly enjoying the past thirty years in Portland along with his wife and two daughters.
