You'd never guess the kinds of everyday items that can expose children to lead. These pictures are of items that tested positive for lead, taken by our lead poisoning investigator on routine home visits throughout Portland.

If you have objects like these at home, you can use a simple home test to find out if they contain lead. The Community Energy Project has free lead prevention workshops and offers free test swabs and cleaning resources. Test swabs can also be purchased at hardware stores.
