You usually need a Lighting Level Review because it is required by another agency. It may be needed for a land use process, a transportation permit or a building permit.

We may already have a lighting plan on file for your project area as part of a previous project. If we have a plan and its lighting levels meet our standards, you may not need to submit an application.

Before submitting a review to us:

  • you should have been referred by the other agency.
  • contact lightout@multco.us with your project location to see if we have a lighting plan on file for the area.

Please review these instructions before completing the form:

Application Form

Complete the form and submit your photometric calculations that include all public streets required for your process.

Submit the form and all other documents through our Permit Portal.

Decision

Existing lighting may not meet our standards, or there may be no lighting at all. In this case, you will need to bring the lighting up to our standards.  You will need a Construction Permit to perform this work.

If lighting levels are met, we will issue a memo to the city or county that required street lighting. No further contact is required.
