Juvenile Services Division notified of another employee positive for COVID-19

On December 26, 2021, the Juvenile Services Division was notified that another employee tested positive for COVID-19. Following the notifications, in coordination with Public Health, staff immediately acted by implementing pre-planned infectious disease protocols. These actions include:

  • Quarantining impacted youth and notifying their parents/guardians.  
  • Restricting movement and limiting access to the impacted program to only essential personnel. 
  • Offering testing to all youth where potential exposure was identified. 
  • Working closely with Multnomah County’s Public Health Officer and Communicable Disease response specialist to review case history, information, and protective actions. Meeting with health partners to review and analyze potential exposure and coordinate next steps.

The Juvenile Services Division is working side-by-side with public health COVID-19 experts and the Multnomah County Health Officer as they monitor these individuals. Multnomah County’s Juvenile Services Division takes the health of all youth and staff at the division extremely seriously, and is committed to addressing any needs of the youth impacted

The latest positive case brings the total number of cases at the Juvenile Services Division to five in the past nine days. Visitors to all Multnomah County facilities are reminded that masks are required. Health Officials continue to stress the importance of vaccination; staying home if you have any symptoms or feel ill; are waiting for COVID-19 test results; or have been around someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
