Tax Deadline Reminder - April 18, 2022 deadline for tax year 2021

In 2020, Multnomah County and Metro voters approved two new tax programs for the greater Portland community that will help fund housing services for people experiencing homelessness and establish access to  free high-quality preschool. These new taxes became effective January 1, 2021 and the deadline for remittance is April 18, 2022 for tax year 2021.

The Multnomah County Preschool for All personal income tax is 1.5% on taxable income above $125,000 for individual filers and $200,000 for those filing jointly, and an additional 1.5% on taxable income over $250,000 for individuals and $400,000 for those filing jointly.

The Metro Supportive Housing Services personal income tax is 1% on taxable income above $125,000 for individual filers and $200,000 for those filing jointly; and a 1% tax on net income for businesses with gross receipts above $5 million.

The City of Portland is collecting both the Metro Supportive Housing Tax and Multnomah County Preschool for All Tax. If you are subject to the taxes filing is done through the City of Portland Revenue Online (PRO) https://pro.portland.gov/_/
