Why did you join the MYC

I decided to join the MYC because of change. In our world, change is always occurring, but who are these people making them? I wanted to be in that position and be the person from the other end who can use their voice to advocate their opinions and reasonings. There are many things I want to help out with and even though I may just be one person, being part of the Multnomah Youth Commission, I have people who are striving for the same goal and can work together for change.

What three words best describe you?

Extrovert, welcoming, and charming.

Who inspires you?

A person who I have looked up to recently has been my grandfather. After hearing all the stories of what he did for his family and for the people he loved, I really felt that connection between us and strive to be as good of a person as he was.

What is an issue/movement that is important to you?

Youth voice is just as important as the ones from adult which is something I believe is important for many people to acknowledge. Some decisions being made, specifically targeting youth, are not getting input from the people being affected. I have been able to have the privilege to use my youth voice to make changes in my community which is something that is very important to me and encourage others to spread awareness of it.

If you could eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be?

Mashed Potatoes!! Not sure why but it’s that one item that I can eat without getting tired of it! Eating it with something else or just alone, it’s a food I am willing to eat for the rest of my life.
