Looking for some fun with the kids that is also good for your health? Come to the Northeast Community Health Fair on Tuesday,  Aug. 6.

The free fair will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Northeast Health Center, 5329 N.E. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. in Portland. The fair will include dancing, kids’ activities, health screenings, a local youth art exhibit and information about healthy living and public and health insurance options.

The county is partnering with Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and the Boys and Girls Club to host the fair. There will be an art project inside the center’s Loaves and Fishes dining room.

Let’s Get Healthy, OHSU’s  fun, interactive research exhibit, will be featured beginning at 11 a.m. inside the clinic.

The event kicks off National Health Center Week on Aug. 11- 17. Community health centers provide health care to nearly 21 million patients nationwide, many of whom are living in areas with limited access to health care. Community clinics treat the whole patient through culturally-competent, accessible and integrated care.

The outdoor fair is being held on National Night Out. For more information about this event, please contact Kimie Ueoka at kimie.ueoka@multco.us.
