March 22, 2020

Multnomah County Primary Care Clinics will begin offering most medical appointments by telemedicine, beginning Monday, March 23. Telemedicine is when health care professionals offer medical advice and treatment over the phone.

Staff temporarily shifts to telemedicine-first and consolidates clinics starting March 23

Offering more telemedicine appointments will ensure clients continue to access great care while slowing community spread of COVID-19 through physical distancing and supporting our vulnerable clients to stay home to stay safe.

If you are already a patient, here is what you need to know:

  • Pharmacy Services will remain open. Pharmacy hours are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at all locations. Pharmacies will not mail prescriptions. But if you are ill, staff will help coordinate an alternative option for pick-up.

  • Your provider will call you to confirm if your next appointment will be via phone or in-person.

  • If your appointment is via phone, your provider will call you at your scheduled appointment date and time.

  • Your provider will determine if you require an in-person visit after your health issue is discussed over the phone. If you require an in-person visit and you have an active cough or fever, you will be asked to wear a mask as soon as you arrive.

  • All non-urgent dental appointments, such as dental cleaning, will be rescheduled.
