The virus that causes COVID-19 passes easily from person to person. To protect yourself and others from getting sick:
COVID-19 vaccination is the best way to prevent serious illness, hospitalization, and death from COVID-19. All Oregonians age 12 and older are now eligible to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Wear a face covering when going out
Stay home and away from others if sick
Cover coughs and sneezes
Stay at least 6 feet from people you do not live with
Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds

- Limit trips and stay close to home
Get a flu shot
It’s likely that both influenza (flu) and COVID-19 will be in the community this fall and winter. This means getting a flu shot is more important this year than ever. While flu vaccines will not protect against COVID-19, they are proven to reduce the risk of flu illness, hospitalization and death.
