Charter Review Committee Program Coordinator Kali Odell
As the program coordinator for Multnomah County’s Charter Review Committee (CRC), Kali provides logistical, technical, research, and facilitation support to the community committee that studies the county charter with the intention of recommending potential changes to voters.

Kali grew up in Portland and pursued her higher education degrees in Washington State. She has a B.A. in Politics & Government from the University of Puget Sound and an M.Ed. in Student Development Administration from Seattle University. She is passionate about increasing political and civic engagement and believes education is a foundational tool for making that happen. She spent the first part of her career educating college students about academic and career pathways, with an emphasis on law, government, and public policy. As part of that work, she prioritized developing programs to improve access to educational and professional opportunities for those who have been excluded from them historically. These priorities carry into her work with the CRC, where she strives to ensure that committee members and the public have the access and information they need to fully engage in this self-governance project.

Outside of work, Kali enjoys exploring her new neighborhood in NE Portland, having previously lived in SW and SE. She dotes on her two kittens, and there is nothing she enjoys more than the combination of a sleepy cat, a cup of hot tea, and a great book.
