The Library Advisory Board is an advisory body made up of community members impacted by Multnomah County Library services and resources. This group is charged with advising the library on policies and its annual budget, and also serves as the library’s Community Budget Advisory Committee (CBAC).

Library Advisory Board Membership

The Library Advisory Board strives to recruit members from across the county representing diverse lived experiences and different types of library users. When a vacancy opens up, current members recruit and vote to recommend new members to the Library District Board, who approve new member appointments. Library Advisory Board bylaws stipulate a 17-member board, including at least two youth members between the ages of 13-17. Youth members serve one two-year term, and other members may serve up to two four-year terms.
