Multnomah County's Office of Diversity and Equity and City of Portland's Office of Community and Civic Life are happy to announce the recruitment for the 2019-2020 Multnomah Youth Commission. Please encourage any young person you know who will be between the ages of 13-21 (as of August 1, 2019) to apply by April 22, 2019.

Youth Commissioners serve a one-year term and commit up to 15 hours per month to help support the County & City on issues that impact the lives of their peers. Youth Commissioners are also in charge of implementing "Our Bill of Rights: Children + Youth," the nation's first Bill of Rights written by and for young people. The Youth Commission gets things done! One young person said it this way:

“The MYC has always given me the tools and training to advocate for myself and my community." - Former MYC member

No special skills or experience required; just a passion for making our community a better place. Youth interested in policy, activism, or community organizing are encouraged to apply. Read more about MYC.
