The Office of Community Involvement is hiring a Charter Review Committee Program Coordinator!

This new position will spend the next year and a half supporting a diverse group of community members to study our County Charter, shape the future of our county, and ensure local government serves our communities equitably and effectively.

The charter is the local version of a constitution, creating the structure of Multnomah County government. The charter states that every six years, a Charter Review Committee will convene to comprehensively review the charter and recommend any changes to Multnomah County voters. As the Charter Review Committee Program Coordinator, you will support and staff the Multnomah County Charter Review Committee in its work to study the county charter and develop recommended changes for voter approval. Specifically, you’ll build and maintain relationships with committee members, provide the primary logistical, facilitation and technical support to the committee, coordinate the committee’s interactions with county leaders and community, and monitor the program deadlines. Throughout all of your work, you will work to elevate a diverse range of community voices into county decision making, promote opportunities for community engagement, and support the removal of barriers to civic participation. This position is pending the approval of the Board of County Commissioners.
