Olivia Kilgore is the Community Involvement Coordinator in Multnomah County’s Office of Community Involvement, where they connect community members with volunteer opportunities throughout Multnomah County, staff the Community Involvement Committee and support other advisory committees. Olivia is passionate about engaging the community, especially those who have historically experienced barriers to civic engagement.

Olivia was born and raised in the Portland Metro area and graduated from Reed College with a B.A. in Sociology, where they focused their studies on the ways communities of color are disproportionately impacted by institutions and systems. During their time at Reed, they were deeply involved with the Office of Community Wellness where they created and led inclusive wellness related programming for the student body. Concurrently, Olivia worked with youth through culturally responsive teaching and advocacy opportunities in both Oregon and Illinois.

Prior to joining Multnomah County, Olivia worked as a Program Administrator with SMART Reading and connected volunteers in Multnomah, Clackamas and Washington counties with opportunities to read with students. They also co-chaired the organization’s Equity Team and aided in operationalizing equity through program, policy and procedure review and implementation.

Outside of work, Olivia likes to go on walks outside, watch movies, collect soup recipes for the winter and spend time with their two black cats--Bagheera and Blackberry.
