The County seeks to do business with vendors  who demonstrate innovative approaches to reducing their impact on the natural environment through use of alternative energy, low-emission equipment, biodegradable chemicals, or items with recycled content. The County's Sustainable Purchasing and Social Equity Policy encourages vendors to adopt sustainable business practices that reduce chemical and green-house gas emissions, comply with LEED standards, and promote the use of recycled materials in goods and services purchased by the County. By signing the Contract, the Vendor agrees to conscientiously review their own business processes and purchases in an effort to reduce their overall carbon footprint and the use of chemicals that are potentially harmful to the community. Additionally, the Vendor will conform to all specifications relating to sustainability contained in the Bid or Solicitation documents, including, but not limited to, Scope of Work and any included Attachments or equipment required for performance of the Contract.
