The goal of Multnomah County outreach efforts is to support and strengthen community and business partnerships.

Throughout the year, purchasing staff attends more than 90 community meetings and events to market construction contracting and personal services opportunities. A wide range of meetings and organizations are incorporated into Multnomah County outreach efforts including but not limited to:

African American Chamber of Commerce - Nonprofit organization that advocates for the equitable participation of minority businesses in the local economy.

Business Diversity Institute - Nonprofit organization that provides training and education to minority-owned businesses in Oregon and SW Washington.

Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber - Provides networking sessions, small business loans and leadership training.

National Association of Minority Contractors of Oregon - Nonprofit organization dedicated to eliminating barriers to participation in regional construction and design projects faced by minority business owners.

Native American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon - Nonprofit organization that focuses on the advancement of educational and economic opportunities for Native Americans in Oregon and SW Washington.

Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs - Holds monthly business networking meetings for small and large businesses and government representatives to discuss contracting opportunities.  Additionally, OAME provides access to capital and technical assistance for small businesses.

Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Oregon - Focuses on promoting trade, investment, tourism and economic relations between businesses in Oregon and the Philippines.

Attending community outreach events supports and strengthens our partnerships with diverse organizations and communities.
