Project Information

  • Location: NW Germantown Road, between Skyline and Kaiser (see location map)
  • Schedule:  Repairs were completed during a week-long road closure that ended October 21, 2018.
  • Estimated Cost: $240,000
  • Funding Source: Federal Emergency Funds

Project Description

A slow moving landslide damaged a portion of NW Germantown Rd. The culvert that crosses Germantown in this section failed, adding to the slide.  The project repaired the slope, replaced the culvert, added a guardrail and realigned the road away from the slope.

Traffic Impact

The repairs required a one-week closure of the road that ended October 21, 2018. The road was too narrow to keep open to traffic during repairs.

Germantown was closed to through traffic between NW Kaiser Road and NW Skyline Boulevard. Residents of Germantown had access at all times, up to the work zone.

Alternate routes for through traffic included NW Skyline Boulevard and NW Springville Road.

Public Involvement

Public meetings were held on October 8, 2018 and August 30, 2017 to share information about the project and gather community input.  The meeting presentations and public comment summary from the meeting are below.
