SGMY RFP

The SUN Service System, an initiative managed by Youth & Family Services in the Department of County Human Services, released the Sexual and Gender Minority Youth program (SGMY) Request for Proposal (RFP) on December 8th, 2023. Through this competitive process we will be soliciting applications from organizations interested in contracting with Multnomah County for SGMY services managed through the SUN Service System.

The SGMY Program offers:
  1. Community and direct services to sexual and gender minority youth in remaining in or returning to school. Services provided by the SGMY program include counseling services, support services, support groups, and one-on-one mentorship. 
  2. Technical assistance, and training to support SUN agencies and other community partners in the ability to work effectively with sexual minority youth to increase awareness of the issues that sexual and gender minority youth face, and ensure that community providers have the skills to support these youth competently.
  3. Drop in resource center that provides youth with a safe space to connect, access support and counseling, engage in social events and skill building sessions.

Currently, services for SGMY are provided by New Avenues For Youth (NAFY) and the Sexual Minority Youth Resource Center which provides SGMY with a supportive social environment and peer support.
