In 2011-2012 there were 65 SUN Community Schools that served:
- 23,969 children and youth in ongoing enrolled classes and activities
- 3,851 adults in adult education, skill-building and school-related classes
- 97,444 people in community and family events and activities.
Showing Results
Regularly participating students showed strong gains in academics and attendance areas:
- 76% increased state benchmark scores in Reading
- 73% increased state benchmark scores in Math
- Average daily school attendance was 95%
- 67% improved behavior
- 76% improved class participation
- 75% improved in finding alternative resolutions to problems
- 93% of students have at least one adult who cares about them to whom they can go for attendance
