ATTENTION: FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUTH-LED
ANTI-VIOLENCE PROJECT
Portland, OR -- The Multnomah Youth Commission's Youth Against Violence Committee (YAV) is partnering with the Oregon Community Foundation to grant up to $1,000 for youth in Multnomah County to develop a youth-led project that addresses violence in their communities. This is an incredible opportunity for youth in schools, after-school programs, and youth within organizations to put together a project proposal around an issue of violence that directly impacts them. This is possible thanks to the generosity of Harry and Marguerite Kendall Fund of Oregon Community Foundation and PGE Foundation.
The following criteria must be met in order to be considered:
- Application must be youth-led AND written by youth
- Priority goes to groups addressing one of the MYC’s seven identified forms of violence (refer to pages 7-10 on the application)
- Application must be complete and submitted by Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 5PM
- If you are considered, a youth representative must interview and/or meet with YAV members
Please share this with interested youth, youth workers, teachers or other adult allies. If you know of youth-led groups/organizations, please encourage them to apply!
Applications will be accepted via email, mail, or hand delivered until Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 5PM. If you have any questions or want to hear about last year’s projects, please email multnomahyouth@gmail.com or call 971.803.2559. Application and more information.
