"LaCarla Brown has been an active volunteer with the Multnomah County Health Department’s Healthy Birth Initiative (HBI) for the past six years. She has served as the HBI Consortium co-chairperson and chairperson, and currently serves as a member of the HBI Community Action Network Leadership Group.
LaCarla helped pilot the HBI Internship program and has served as a peer support person through the Seeking Safety program. She is always happy to help out with the planning, preparation and implementation of all HBI events and activities and has volunteered to staff HBI information tables at community events. She went to the National Healthy Start Conference as a consumer representative and spoke with Congressional representatives about the importance of HBI services. She is an excellent program advocate who is always available to assist HBI in any way!"
