Leah joined the Chair’s staff in February of 2023, as the Senior Policy Advisor for Community Safety. Prior to joining the Chair’s staff, Leah was a Project Manager for Multnomah County’s Health Department, where she collaborated with community and multi-agency stakeholders in developing programs related to behavioral health and reimagining public safety. Her background includes work as a Criminal Justice Instructor for Chaminade University, Police Officer and Specialized Training Unit Instructor for the Honolulu Police Department, remote instructor for FEMA, LE Community Advocate for Honolulu's Department of Human Services - Kalakaua Homes, and member of Oahu’s Type III Incident Management Team.

Leah's experience as a police officer drove her to study the field of Sociology, to help equip her in addressing systemic issues and eradicating disparities in public safety and community support services.

Leah was born and raised in the Portland metro area and enjoys traveling, running, playing soccer, and eating sushi with her children (Kekoa and Naomi).
