Community meetings planned for county Comprehensive Plan

September 8, 2015

Property owners, residents and business owners in rural Multnomah County, and other interested persons, are invited to community meetings on September 9 and 16 to learn about the county’s Comprehensive Plan update and provide input on work completed so far.

County Planning staff and a consultant team, with assistance from an appointed Community Advisory Committee, have been working on the Comprehensive Plan project for nearly a year.  The committee has been meeting monthly to help draft policies on key land use and transportation topics. These policies will establish the blueprint that will shape the physical development and transportation decisions for rural areas of the county for many years to come.

The community meetings will provide an opportunity for county residents to learn about policy recommendations related to rural topics such as farm and forest lands, agri-tourism, farm stands, rural centers, natural resource protection, natural hazards and transportation. Meeting attendees will be asked to share their opinions about these policies by completing a short survey.  Information about the policies and the survey form can also be found on the project website at multco.us/compplan.

The community meetings will be held September 9 from 6:30 to 9 pm at Skyline Elementary School Gymnasium (11536 NW Skyline Blvd, Portland, OR) and September 16 from 6:30 to 9 pm at Barlow High School Cafeteria (5105 SE 302nd Ave., Gresham, OR).
