Chair Deborah Kafoury sent the following message to James Ramos, Chair of the Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County:
Dear Chair James Ramos and the Board of Supervisors,
Yesterday, we were shocked to learn of the shooting at a holiday party of San Bernardino County employees. I am doubly saddened by this violence because it took place among the San Bernardino county health workers who devote their lives to keeping the food, drinking water and facilities in your community safe.
On behalf of Multnomah County, I extend my sincerest sympathies to you and the San Bernardino County employees affected, their families and friends; and to public health workers everywhere who work each day to protect us from harm.
