While most in-person services are canceled, telehealth and critical services like detention, shelters continue

Multnomah County, Ore. (January 17, 2024) — Multnomah County offices, libraries, clinics, pharmacies and courts will be closed Wednesday Jan. 17, 2024, due to difficult travel conditions in the aftermath of the ice storm. This includes Animal Services. Already-scheduled medical appointments will be converted to telehealth appointments.

Staff are continuing to work at shelters as temperatures rise and road conditions improve. Those signed up for shifts in our warming shelters are still needed as scheduled.

The Multnomah County Circuit Court will also be closed. There will be no Multnomah County Circuit Court hearings, trials or grand juries, and the courthouses will not be open. Jurors do not need to appear. Visit the Court’s website at www.courts.oregon.gov/courts/multnomah for more information.

People are urged to check multco.us and the County’s Care for When It’s Cold page, and to follow the County on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates. Updates to our operations will also be recorded on the County’s inclement weather phone line: 503-988-4633.
