Upcoming Independence Day closure

July 2, 2021

Many Multnomah County services offered over email, phone, and in-person will be unavailable on Sunday, July 4 and/or Monday, July 5 in observance of Independence Day. Please read on for specifics. 

Sunday, July 4


On Sunday, July 4: 

  • All Multnomah County Library holds pickup, phone, email, and chat services will be unavailable. Additionally, all library branches will be closed.

  • Multnomah County Animal Services will be closed (Though, emergency services will still be offered during the holiday. Call 503- 988-7387)

Monday, July 5


On Monday, July 5 most County facilities will be closed and most services will be unavailable, including:  

  • Multnomah County Health Department clinics and telemedicine services 

  • Multnomah County Division of Recording, Assessment, and Taxation email, live chat, and phone services  

Capitol Hill, Gregory Heights, Gresham, Holgate, Kenton, Midland, Rockwood and Woodstock libraries will open for in-building services. All other library locations are open for holds pickup only. Phone, email and chat services are available.

Multnomah County Animal Services will also be open Monday, July 5. 

Normal business hours will resume Countywide on Tuesday, July 6 but many physical County facilities will remain closed due to COVID-19 concerns. Please contact the appropriate office for more information.
