District Senior Centers
Multnomah County partners with organizations to provide a variety of services to older people.
District Senior Centers are spread throughout the county and provide a core menu of services including:
- Information about and connections to local services
- Options Counseling to help make a plan for the future
- Case Management for County clients
- Oregon Project Independence which provides services such as housekeeping, personal care, grocery shopping, and adult respite services that keep people in their homes
- Recreation activities
District Senior Centers and Enhancing Equity Partners may also provide other activities unique to each agency, including:
- Support for Family Caregivers
- Health promotion activities such as exercise and nutrition classes
- Foot clinics
- Senior Law Project
- Blood pressure screenings
- Art classes
- Medicare counseling (SHIBA)
- Congregate meals
- Volunteer opportunities
- Food pantries
- Various social activities and outings
There are generally no financial eligibility criteria for participation in these activities, though donations are accepted.
