2013 Executive Committee Meetings

LPSCC Executive Committee generally meets from 7:30 am to 9:00 am on the first Tuesday of the month - exceptions are noted in bold below. Meetings are held in the room 315 of the Multnomah Building at 501 SE Hawthorne, unless otherwise noted.

Agendas and materials for each meeting are linked below when they become available. Minutes are posted after the Executive Committee has approved them.

2013 Meetings Dates

February 5, 2013

Commissioners Shiprack and McKeel gave a status update from the Emergency Population Release Workgroup. LPSCC Public Safety Analyst Matt O'Keef and LPSCC Research Assistant Lauren Brown presented a special analysis of public safety.  Commissioner Deborah Kafoury, Join Executive Director Marc Jolin, and Portland Police Captain Sara Westbrook presented the Ten Year Plan to End Homelessness.

April 2, 2013

LPSCC Executive Director Peter Ozanne gave a follow up on the 2013 Executive Committee Retreat. Suzanne Hayden gave a status update on the Justice Reinvestment Workgroup.

May 7, 2013

Most of the meeting was devoted to discussions of (1) the future directions and the scope of work of LPSCC's Youth & Gang Violence Steering Committee and (2) developments at the state legislature regarding justice reinvestment legislation that resulted from the work of the Governor's Commission on Public Safety and the implications of that legislation for Multnomah County.  

June 4, 2013

The agenda featured an update on the status of justice reinvestment legislation and a discussion on plans for the LPSCC subcommittees during the summer of 2013.

August 6, 2013

LPSCC held a Special Meeting  to discuss House Bill 3194.  

September 10, 2013

The agenda for the September meeting featured an update from the Justice Reinvestment Workgroup, an update from Portland Mayor & LPSCC Co-Chair Charlie Hales on public safety related policies in Portland including a presentation from Portland Police Chief Mike Reese on homelessness and public safety, and a presentation from the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission and the Oregon Office of Economic Analysis on the local and statewide impacts of House Bill 3194 and prison forecast.

October 1, 2013

The agenda for the October meeting featured updates from the LPSCC Subcommittees, a presentation on the new jail kiosk system from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office, and updates from the Court.  

November 5, 2013

The agenda for the November meeting featured updates from the Court on the implementation of eCourt and the new courthouse.  DCJ Director Scott Taylor presented the Multnomah County Community Corrections Plan.  Representatives from the Health Department and the Department of Human Services gave an overview of the Affordable Care Act and expected local impact.
