A short section of SE 282nd Avenue north of SE Stone Road in rural East Multnomah County was closed to traffic for construction of a new bridge. The work was part of a $900,000 intersection improvement at SE 282nd and SE Stone Rd. that:
- Realigned the east leg of SE Stone Rd. at SE 282nd to line up with the west leg of SE Stone Rd. at the intersection
- Added left turn lanes on SE 282nd approaching SE Stone Rd. from both directions
- Replaced a box culvert that carries Johnson Creek under SE 282nd with a short bridge, to improve fish passage.
The improvements are intended to reduce crashes that have occurred at the intersection in recent years by improving traffic flow. About 6,000 vehicles a day pass through the intersection.
Multnomah County maintains this intersection, except for the southern leg of SE 282nd Ave. which is maintained by Clackamas County.
