On Monday, July 4th the Sauvie Island Foot Traffic Flat will impact traffic on the island from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The races cover portions of Sauvie Island Road, NW Gillihan and NW Reeder Road. Drivers, cyclists and pedestrians should expect potential delays during the event. One lane will be open to cars and trucks during the race on the opposite side of the road from the competing runners.

Given recent concerns about overcrowding on the island, Multnomah County wants to clarify that the race course is not on the portion of NW Reeder Road where a contractor was making temporary emergency repairs on two failed culverts. Those repairs were completed and that portion of NW Reeder Road is now open to two lanes.
