Project Description
We painted crosswalks at each location and updated sidewalk ramps to current standards where needed. One location received a Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon.
The locations were:
- SW Cherry Park & Hensley: crosswalk and new ramp
- SW Cherry Park & Kings Byway: two crosswalks and three new ramps
- SE Sandy & S Troutdale: crosswalk
- SE Stark & Hampton Loop: two crosswalks and flashing beacon
This project was a result of the Safe Routes To School program.
The schools and community were concerned for the safety of students who walk or bike to school. We worked with the Reynolds School District, the Troutdale Police Department and community representatives to identify the most hazardous locations and develop a plan to make them safer.
Traffic Impacts
There were partial lane closures during construction and installation. Flaggers directed traffic through the workzone.
